First issue of GAL VIP!

Hello Everyone!

I am sure that a lot of you have allready seen it, but for those of you that haven't I'm creating this post!

Yesterday the first issue of GAL VIP has been released! I'm a featured model, and so is my gyarusa HYPER, and aside from that I'm also a designer of the magazine, can you guess which pages are mine? :3
Everybody put a lot of work and effort into this magazine. The models, the columnists, the designers and ofcourse the editors. So I hope you all will at least take a look and let me know what you think
Here is the cover!

And here is a preview of one of my pages ;o Don't forget to click to enlarge!

Ofcourse I am really excited about this magazine, but one of the most important things to me is, constructive critism. Eventhough I'm proud of what we have done so far, I think we can do at least a thousand times better! So please give me some honest critique that we can do something with, and it will all be added in the next magazine!
But for now, please enjoy!

12 opmerkingen:

  1. I have read it, and it looks really good! I could also see which pages were designed by you ^^ You all did a great job, and everyone who's featured in it looks amazing ♥

    1. Ahh I am so glad that you read it :D We will do our best to improve but I am really happy that you liked it <3

  2. Aaah you did such an amazing job ^3^ So proud of everyone >///<

    1. Aww thank you :) I hope we can all make more magazines together! u_u <3

  3. I think if you would clean up the look of magazine, it would be much better. Its tiring to read if every page is filled and too much "clutter"(all those diamonts, bling bling etc.. and every page whit really diferent wallpaper. the cover of magazine is really balanced, but the contents does not meet expectations.

    1. Thank you for your feedback! It sure is something that we've heard a lot, especially that the layout isn't coherent at all~ but I'm currently a part of that problem as I'm also one of the designers u_u Ageha is my main source of inspiration and that is usually really cluttered as well, but I think we will surely work together to make a more balanced magazine together ! :) Once again thank you for your feedback ^^

  4. I was wondering: are you (you as in the entire team) looking for feedback/pointers on the design/layout of the magazine? cause I noticed some things that could be fixed, or are incoherent?
I don't want to give feedback if you are not looking for it

    1. We are looking for feedback! But we have had a lot of feedback on the layout allready and I must agree that it's a little incoherent, we will be working on that for the next issues! But please let me know :)

    2. Okay, please excuse me if I sound rude, I don't mean to be rude.
Most of these are purely cosmetic, however they do make the difference

      Spelling and grammar
      - There are words that are misspelled.
      - Some words are capitalized when they don't need to and some should be but aren't.
      - There are sentences with missing or to many spaces or punctuation marks.

I understand that the pieces are all written by different members of the team, and not everyone has English as their first language, but maybe you should have one member (preferably a native English speaker) who checks everything for grammar and spelling. And who checks that when everything has been put into the layout things still look good language wise(cut-offs and the like)

second: it is obvious that pages where made by different people
      some examples;
      - outfit rundown: most use a - yet some use a :
      - outfit rundown: some pages have darker background boxes for text than others. On some pages this also clashes with the background as it makes words harder to read.
      - outfit rundown: Some are written in a different style from the others (most noticable Daniel's as all the girls have just rundowns with the brands, yet his are decriptions of the outfit)

On account of the different style of magazines emulated; maybe it would be better if you would pick one magazine to draw inspiration from per issue. So more like; Issue 1 is Ageha style. Issue 2 is Egg style.
It makes for a more consistent magazine, at least more consistent throughout the issue. Of course ideally there would be a special unique style for the magazine.

      Third: Text formating
      - Some pages use two columns, some use one.
      - Some use left aligned text, some block text, some centred text.
      - Some are closely aligned to their text fields, some have more space.

Also, I assume this is just an issue with this issue being digital, a lot of the images seem to be quite low resolution, making the whole magazine look less professional

    3. Thank you for your feedback! I must be honest and say that a lot of these things have been adressed allready :) We are now working with someone that looks over all the text and someone that looks over the complete magazine. We assigned different designers to different aspects of the magazine, and we will try to make a nice coherent layout throughout the whole magazine :) I will paste this on to some of the editors though ^^, Thank you! We will make the next issue a whole lot better :)

  5. I love it! Good job to everybody, especially for the first issue! And with everybody saying the mag is has too much bling bling and so on: I love it! It it's indeed very Ageha like. I have to say I prefer it this way. Dutch magazines are fun to read, but the layout is not HYPER enough for me ;3

    Can't wait till next issue!

    1. Ahh I am so glad to hear you love it! I am personally a really big fan of lots of bling and ageha layouts as well, but I assume that there just are a lot of people that don't like it as much ;n;

We will do our best to make the next issue even better! :D
